Just the other day we read about a Motorola soak test for owners of the original Droid Razr. Now we are hearing that members of Motorola’s feedback network with Sprint Motorola Photon 4Gs have also been invited to a soak test.
We were pretty certain that the Droid Razr soak test was for an Android 2.3.6 build and not Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Although other sites are reporting that their feeling is that this Photon 4G soak test isn’t Ice Cream Sandwich either, nothing has leaked to the contrary.
More after the break
Motorola has been using this soak test method for the better part of the last two years. During that time we’ve seen full operating system upgrade tests and little tests with just a few bug fixes. We’re hoping that the Photon 4G test is for Ice Cream Sandwich, but who knows.
Motorola Atrix 4G owners haven’t been invited to participate in a soak test in a while. The Atrix 4G is the Photon 4G’s cousin on AT&T and was introduces a few months earlier than the Photon 4G. We would think that the Atrix would upgrade to ICS before the Photon, but who knows what those silly OEM’s and carriers decide.
Whatever it is, there’s an update for the Photon 4G coming soon, and if you’re in Motorola’s feedback network and own a Photon 4G, go get in that test and let us know what’s up.
