CONFIRMED: The Next iPhone Will Be 4G LTE

Even though they have the nations largest and most reliable 3G network Verizon Wireless is starting to make a bigger transition to 4G/LTE. Here in Las Vegas yesterday Verizon announced that all of their smartphones going forward would be 4G/LTE.

According to Verizon Wireless, 4G/LTE will now be a hard requirement of all smartphones going forward.

Of course 4G/LTE devices will have the capability to function on Verizon’s 3G network for those in non LTE areas to benefit from. However all smartphones must have 4G/LTE which of course would include the next iPhone.

The world was stunned in the fall of 2011 when Apple released a mild update to the iPhone 4 in the iPhone 4S and that iPhones were all still entirely 3G.

Verizon added that they will be finished with their initial LTE rollout at the end of 2013 and they are still presently way ahead of their expectations.
