CES 2012: Livio Radio Puts Grooveshark In The Car With Three Months Free

This is great news for all you Grooveshark users out there, especially folks who’ve wanted to put Grooveshark in the car and weren’t sure if you wanted a full subscription.

Livio Radio had their new Grooveshark car kit on display at CES 2012 in Las Vegas this week. The Grooveshark car kit is an easy to use plug and play car kit that lets users connect to hundreds of internet radio feeds. With this particular kit you also get access to Grooveshark.

Livio has partnered with Florida based Grooveshark to offer new customers who purchase a Groove Shark Livio Radio car kit, 3 free months of Groove Shark service.

More after the break

Livio’s Android car kit was honored this year as a CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Award Honoree.

“The first thing people see when they walk into the largest grade show in North America is the CES Innovation Showcase.  This honor gives reminds me of the feeling when my mom put an A+ paper on the refrigerator growing up.  Only now, 140,000 people are in my kitchen,” Livio Radio founder and CEO Jake Sigal said.

The Innovations entries are judged based on the following criteria:

  • Engineering qualities, based on technical specs and materials used
  • Aesthetic and design qualities
  • The product’s intended use/function and user value
  •  Unique/novel features that consumers would find attractive
  • How the design and innovation of the product compares to other products in the marketplace

The Grooveshark car kit and Grooveshark service give the user access to millions of songs from all kinds of record labels across the world. Some of the best indie labels have partnered with Grooveshark as well.
