Zinio E-Newsstand For Magazines Joins The Kindle Fire Family

The popular magazine newsstand app Zinio has announced today that they are available for the Kindle Fire. We’ve noticed that Zinio has made more and more pre-installed appearances on Android devices. Most recently the MyTouch by LG and the T-Mobile Springboard by Huawei. Zinio is now available on more tablet devices than any other newsstand or magazine reader.

Zinio’s catalog of available magazine titles is like walking into the magazine section of any big box bookstore.  All of the most popular titles are available in e- format and pop off most screens.

Digital reading continues to be one of the fastest growing technology segments. That, coupled with the adoption of tablets has Zinio in a great position. By the end of the year tablets will be in the hands of 35 million users, by 2015 Gartner expects that number to be  208 million.

More after the break

The Kindle Fire quickly became the best selling product on Amazon.com weeks before the device started shipping yesterday.

“There are more mobile phones and tablet devices in the USA than there are people, and we believe that the world will indeed have twice as many connected devices as people by 2015,” said Zinio President and CEO Rich Maggiotto. “This should be and is a huge incentive for publishers to migrate swiftly to digital distribution. Our reach across all operating systems positions Zinio, and our publisher partners, to uniquely grow alongside the exploding device market.”

Zinio is also having a crazy promotion. For a limited time any new registrant will get a $25 credit toward the purchase of any magazine(s) that they want from now until March 2012.

Kindle Fire users can download Zinio in the Amazon Appstore here

  1. I am having the same problem, even the Amazon Appstore says it cannot be downloaded for the Fire, but can be downloaded for my other Android devices! Frustrating.
