The family edition will come with Zoodles edutainment software. According to Engadget there’s $40 worth of the software in there. Through Zoodles “kid mode” parents can lock their tablet down so that their kids don’t stumble upon a porn site by accident.
Zoodles software suite comes chock full of kids games, an art studio, a way for relatives and friends to video chat and “read books” via the tablet. It also includes interactive books and read alongs.
We’re not expecting this tablet to cost an arm or a leg or coming with quad core processors. We’re not sure how well it will do but it’s out there. One things for sure though with all that laser blasting, red eyed, science fiction marketing the preschool parent may shy away from this thing and go the direction of a Vinci tablet.
