App Spotlight: Flickr for Android

For a while now to upload a photo to Flickr Android users would have to use a third-party app. However, Yahoo Inc. has finally decided to give what many people have asked for, a Flickr app for Android.

The app allows the user to upload from two different sources, the gallery or a freshly taken picture. There is currently not method for uploading multiple photos at once, something that has set Android Market commenters into an uproar. Photos can be shared via Twitter and Facebook through the app, as well. There are some filters to apply to your photos, but they’re not very impressive and you’d be better off using another app for editing.

There is definitely some room for improvement when it comes to this app, which is a shame considering how long users have been waiting for it. Difficulties uploading photos on many different Android handsets makes it hard to suggest it to a friend or family member. The app is new though, and they are working on it, so hopefully it will be as good as anticipated sooner rather than later.
