App Spotlight: Banjo

Social networking is something that intrigues people of all ages. It’s no wonder that there are so many apps based upon this idea. These apps come in many different styles. Some are based upon point systems to show who is out there the most, others are simply ways for friends to communicate with each other. Banjo seems to fall under the latter category.

Banjo is a location-based app that allows for the user to interact with the world around them. Open the app and a screen filled with random people’s profiles will appear. The idea is that the user can talk to anyone and become part of the community. Chat about a party going on later tonight, maybe a new place to eat that just opened up, anything that comes to mind.

There is an interactive map that will show where everyone is that has the app loaded. If many people are crowded around one spot, there may be something going on, so send them a message asking what’s happening. It could be that something that will make a night in turn into a night out.

Those people out there who like a good social networking app should try out Banjo. It’s an interesting way to meet new people and get in touch with the surrounding community.
