Motorola announced late last week that their flagship Xoom tablet would get the next version of Android dubbed “Ice Cream Sandwich”. Although they couldn’t give a firm time table a Motorola employee in their forums said that the Xoom would get Android 4.0.
Asus Chairman Jonney Shih eluded to Walt Mossberg on stage at AllthingD’s AsiaD conference last week that their next Eee Pad Transformer tablet, the Transformer Prime, may be debuting with Ice Cream Sandwich as early as next month. Asus is expected to hold a press event November 9th to make the announcement of the Transformer Prime which will be the first Android tablet with the Nvidia quad-core ka-el processor.
Now, Android Authority is reporting that Acer’s office in Poland has confirmed an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich in the mid part of 2012. Ice Cream Sandwich is expected to be all the rage at this years Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January.
