Bill To Account was a benefit for customers with good Sprint credit. Basically if you had been a Sprint customer for 90 days and paid your bill on time, the next time a fancy new phone went on sale you could bill the cost of the phone to your Sprint bill and pay it the following month. According to this internal memo received by Sprintfeed.com Bill To Account will end on October 5th.
more after the break
In the internal memo Sprint details that Bill To Account is ending across the board for all phones, devices, tablets and accessories across all channels regardless of customer tenure. I’ve actually used Bill To Account a few times when a new device has come out which was very useful.
We’re not quite sure what this has to do with Bill To Account but according to the internal document Sprint has asked the customers what they want and that is, unlimited data without throttling and the latest 3G and 4G devices. You would think with wanting the latest 3G and 4G devices along with unlimited data that Bill To Account may be a feature that could help those customers achieve those goals.
Realistically though it’s a loss leader for Sprint and probably a headache in their customer service channels.
