The Samsung Galaxy R ditches the superAMOLED Plus screen in exchange for a SC-LCD touchscreen. It calms the processor down to a 1.2ghz dual core processor (Nvidia Tegra 2). Where the SGSII has an 8mp camera with LED flash the Galaxy R has a 5mp camera, and it also has an LED flash. The camera is also capable of 720p HD video recording.
More after the break
Galaxy R has 1gb of RAM 2gb of ROM and 8gb onboard memory. It of course has a microSD slot capable of 32gb and it also sports the same 1650mah battery that the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S II has. Finally as for the Android, it’s 2.3 and has the newest version of Touch Wiz on top.
There is no word as to whether or not the Galaxy R is headed to the United States but our UK readers can get it now. As you can see it still has an impressive set of specs, just not the same specs as the Galaxy S II. It’s currently available by the UK electronics retailer Expansys and expected elsewhere later this week.
