Back in March the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 was outed by then CFO of Samsung Mobile, Omar Khan and Nick DiCarlo. Both men went onstage at CTIA to show off the thin, honeycomb Android tablets. Samsung actually gave up the retail date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 right there on stage, which was June 8th. Although it was only at one store in the United States, Samsung technically released the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on June 8th.
Now, as far as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 goes, it was slated for release later this summer. Summer technically ends at 5:05am on September 23rd. If Engadget’s sources are correct we will see the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 launch, again with Best Buy, on September 22nd.
According to this report over at Engadget, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9’s have already started arriving at select BestBuy locations. Last week Best Buy put a preorder page up for the 8.9 however there was no date suggested on the page.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is reportedly going to cost $399
