In a step made by Samsung Mobile to fill the shoes of Omar Khan, who left Samsung Mobile earlier this summer for Citi, Samsung has announced today the appointment of wireless veteran Kevin Packingham to the position of Vice President of Product Innovation.  Packingham will report directly to Samsung Mobile USA President Dale Sohn.

In his new role at Samsung Mobile Packingham will be responsible for overseeing Samsung’s carrier product management, product planning, and concept creation departments. In other words he will be the one to help oversee and create the Samsung Quintuplet Core Nexus T-Bone Solar System device.
