Best Buy To Begin Offering Cricket Wireless Prepaid Via ZTE Android Device

Cricket Wireless is expanding, and in a big way. Cricket has started a new retail initiative that will include Cricket in all US Best Buy stores starting Sunday the 25th of September.  Phonearena is reporting that we will see some of Cricket’s newest phones like the Samsung Vitality (with Muve Music) and the new ZTE Score.

The new ZTE Score is an Android phone running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread. It also has a 3.5″ HVGA display, 600mhz processor, and a 3.2 mega pixel camera. The ZTE Score will be available outright for $129.99. Another new ZTE device, called the ZTE Chorus will be available for $99 and include Cricket’s Muve Music service.

Cricket’s retail strategy for the rest of 2011 and 2012 includes retail outlets in Walmart, Dollar General and on the Home Shopping Network. There is no word on whether or not Cricket will get coveted floor space in Best Buy Mobile’s planograms or if the Cricket devices will be on peg hooks with the likes of Virgin and Boost.  We have pinged Cricket to find out if its peg hooks or floor space.
