Asus Releasing “Tough” Android Tablet In Japan

The folks at Asus, the creators of the Eee Pad line of Android tablets, have unveiled what’s got to be the most rugged and toughest Android device to date.   The new Asus Tough, is a 7″ waterproof, dustproof, and ruggedized Honeycomb Android tablet built to withstand extreme conditions.

In terms of toughness the Asus Tough can withstand a concrete drop from over three feet.  When you’re talking about a tablet computer that’s big.

In the spec department you’re looking at a 1ghz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. Of course we already said it has a 7″ screen and the resolution is 1280×800. For storage there is 16gb inside and they’ve even included a miniUSB and microSD slot.

The Asus Tough is heading to Japan’s KDDI first however it’s being built with EVDO Rev.A and WiMax on board so we could theoretically see this tablet come over to Sprint. It’s believed that the tablet is rocking a 7500mah battery which should easily last you a whole day of Android enjoyment.

It is heavy though 620grams worth of heavy. This may be a great trade off though for the ruggedness built around it.
