Samsung “Galaxy Xcover” Announced For October Release

Samsung has really been on a roll today with new devices coming with “Galaxy” names. Accompanying the recently confirmed Galaxy R, Samsung has just announced another Galaxy device, the Galaxy Xcover. The Galaxy Xcover is a phone designed to survive the hardest conditions. Think Nextel, only a smartphone. This phone is supposed to be able to withstand 30 minutes in water up to 1m deep. Yeah, that’s pretty awesome. This phone has a hard shell cover design and a 3.65 inch screen that is scratch-resistant and made of tempered glass. The device is running Gingerbread (Android 2.3) and is able to max out at 7.2Mbps on HSDPA. Along with these specs the device is rocking a 3.2 MP camera with an LED flash. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for this device to hit shelves on October, but Germany is the only country to be on board for the announcement.
