Last Wednesday it was revealed that Samsung had a handful of new “Galaxy” branded Android devices coming out. These new devices would be called Galaxy and then a letter of the alphabet, like the Samsung Galaxy S and the Samsung Galaxy R.
The devices revealed Wednesday were the Samsung Galaxy W, The Samsung Galaxy M Pro, The Samsung Galaxy Y and The Samsung Galaxy Y Pro. According to Engadget the Samsung Galaxy W was supposed to stand for “Wonder”. The Wonder line up is supposed to blend style and performance.
More after the break
The “M” phones are supposed to be magical (doesn’t Apple have that word copywritten?) The “M” line up is supposed to bring a taste of the high end Android features at a lower price point.
Finally the Samsung Galaxy Y Series is supposed to be a little more budget conscious. The phones in the Y series will be better entry points for those converting from a feature phone or other operating system to Android. Now although we already know that “W” stands for wonder, Engadget has gotten their hands on a Samsung Galaxy “W” and it’s white. According to Engadget the Galaxy W shown in the photo above has a textured back.
The rest of the specs for the Galaxy W are a 3.7 inch WVGA display, 1.4ghz processor, a 5 mega pixel camera and Samsung’s Touch Wiz UI.
