Motorola Photon 4G Rooted, But It’ll Cost You Right Now

While we are sure the developers over at XDA are working on a quicker, less expensive way to root Sprint’s new Motorola Photon 4G, there is a root method available now.

The only caveat with the root method that is currently available for the phone that was just released this past weekend, is that it requires the Motorola Photon 4G dock. According to Phandroid that dock will set you back about $100.¬† You’ll also need some other things like SSHDroid, a Wi-Fi connection to your phone, A tv with an open HDMI port and an HDMI cable.

Once you’ve assembled all the parts you need to get the root job done, head over to XDA for complete instructions. When you do, remember no one is responsible for the outcome of your phone except yourself.¬† Big props to XDA user Edgan for posting this root method on XDA
