Hundreds Of Android Fans Gearing Up For Homecoming

With a little more than 40 days to go hundreds of Android fans, enthusiasts and developers are gearing up for the three day Android Funfrence called Android Homecoming, happening in Mountain View California.  In case your not familiar, Mountain View is home to the Google Plex so it’s only fitting that this convergence is taking place there.

For three days (September 23-25, 2011) the Sheraton Sunnyvale, the Hilton Garden Inn Mountain View and the Comfort Inn Mountain View will be home to Android people from all over the world.  Tickets are running out but still available here for just $18.

Some of the biggest features include our celebrity keynote from Rocco of Boondock Saints fame and the $25,000 developer challenge from Viewdle and Millennial Media. That’s not all though.  Friday starts with a welcoming party. Meet some of the great sponsors, check out the Android Arcade, and the MHL lounge and win prizes.  Then there is a bus trip to GOOGLE and San Francisco.  Those under 21 will stay back in Mountain View and continue to party.

More after the break

Saturday our developer day is divided up into the tracks, devs, enthusiasts and kids.  We will release the official schedule labor day weekend but we have come of the CEO’s and CTO’s from true Android companies coming to deliver keynotes, fireside chats and roundtables including several speakers from Google.

Sunday we are offering in depth round tablet breakfast discussions with some of the guest speakers from Saturday. If you want to learn more from one of the Saturday sessions you’ll be able to use your Android device to register for one of the breakfast round tables.  Lunch and Dinner (Dunch right) will be cookout style on the grounds of the hotel and at the pool.  Then at the pool we are going to have the most expensive penny toss ever.  The great folks at LokSak are going to show off how reliable and protective the fully submersible LokSaks are by loading several loksaks with high level new Android superphones and throwing them in the water. If you’re one of the lucky winners you’ll be able to jump into the pool and retrieve (1) One of the loksaks to keep.

Sunday will also include a real live developer sandbox and more.  We anticipate the event to be completely sold out in the next 10 days to two weeks so we highly suggest you get over to and get your ticket now.

There are also about 10 spots left on the Big Android Bus Trip headed to the Big Android BBQ for complete details click here
