Google IO Samsung Galaxy Tabs Getting Google Movies

The crowd went absolutely wild at the Moscone Center when a slide went up on the screen with “limited edition Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1” and then it was announced everyone in the audience would take home a shiny new limited edition Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Androids on the back.

Earlier in the presentation it was revealed that Google would enter into the cloud based music business and cloud based movie business in addition to the budding book business that began with Android 3.0, Honeycomb.  The only problem was that Music By Google Beta was strict invite only and one per person, and Google Movies wasn’t available yet.

more after the break

Well low and behold we learned on Engadget this morning that Google Movies is now available in an update to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Google I/O edition only).  This isnt the full on Android 3.2 update that we’re hoping for but nonetheless if it’s renting movies from Google you’ve been craving, it’s time to go and get it.

Samsung Mobile is holding an event tomorrow in New York City to introduce the newest update to the commercially available Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 that will introduce Samsung’s newly re-designed Touch Wiz for tablets. In fact if you purchased a WifIi Samsung Galaxy Tab and you’re in New York City you’re invited to go to the Samsung Experience at the Time Warner Center tomorrow afternoon and have your tablet upgraded on site. Sounds swell right?
