Finally, after months and months the LG Optimus 3D will make it’s official way onto US shores as the LG Thrill.. This glasses-less 3D Android phone is backed by a dual channel Texas Instruments OMAP processor. It can take 3D stills and video as well as playback 3D stills and video. It’s also great for playing 3D games.
We’ve had a pair of Optimus 3D’s in the TDG offices since an event at Google I/O in May. Although it was a developers build that we received it seemed pretty close to the finished product. We also got a chance to see the finished LG Thrill during CE Week New York back in June at a press event.
More after the break
LG and AT&T have also done a series of 3D promotions including a concert with Jane’s Addiction. That concert was the first 3D concert video shot entirely by fans.
AT&T tweeted earlier today that the LG Thrill would be available this coming Sunday, September 4th. It’s going to be just $99.99 at AT&T Core stores with a new 2 year agreement. It’s also rumored that Target mobile will sell the device, at least for the first week, at $79.99 making it the cheapest dual core 3D Android available.
