App Spotlight: Tagged

Over the last few years social networking has grown into something most people couldn’t predict. First there was Myspace, then Facebook, then Twitter, and now Google+ has grown to 25 million users while in a private beta. There are other location-based networks such as Foursquare and Gowalla, and Tagged sort of combines both.

Tagged is a social networking service that allows users to connect and talk to friends, as well as meeting new people. The application has you make a profile with tagged, and after you set up your profile (info, photos, etc.) you can start chatting and meeting people. The app uses your location to find new people in your area for you to chat with, and it let’s connect and instantly chat with them. On top of meeting new people you can find and connect with the friends you already have. This is a great real-time chatting service that runs smoothly and works like it says.

Tagged is on iPhone and Android, so you can chat with people on almost all smartphones in your area, and with your friends. The app is available in the Android Market for free, and it’s definitely worth checking out.
