Well folks this is the news we’ve all been waiting for…sort of. Well, not really but it’s still a step in the right direction. Samsung Mobile VP JK Shin states “We expect to release the Galaxy S II in the U.S. market sometime in August.” Sometime in August eh, what happened to sometime in July? Europe and Canada are both getting their Galaxy S II love but our US carriers seem to be having a bit of trouble finalizing all of the deals with Samsung.
The Samsung Galaxy S II is the company’s fastest selling phone to date, selling 3 million units in just 55 days. With all of the hype surrounding this device, many people in the US are waiting in agony for it to come to our carriers. Hopefully, JK Shin really means it when he says August, but I really wouldn’t get too worked up until we get our hands on some official press releases or statements from the carriers themselves. We’ve already had to cross off several rumored dates of this device finally reaching US shores, and we really haven’t gotten anything solid until this statement. Check back with TDG for more news and updates as we’ll be sure keep you posted on anything we get about this superphone, because I’m just as excited as you are.
