Today Samsung Mobile announced that the Nexus S would be headed to AT&T on July 24. The phone will be sold at Best Buy Mobile, presales start today, for $99 on contract. The device has a 4 inch Super AMOLED display, 1 gHz processor, and best of all a Pure Google Experience. This means the phone has no custom UI skins from manufacturers, and will always have the latest software available, straight from Google. The device is currently running Android 2.3.4 and is one of the only devices to officially have it.
Of course, the Nexus S launched on T-Mobile, the Nexus S 4G came to Sprint just recently, and now this AT&T version means Verizon Wireless is the only carrier without the Pure Google Experience. Whether or not this is Google’s choice or it’s just that Verizon and Google haven’t finalized any plans, the Nexus S is on every major US carrier (and Cincinnati Bell) except Verizon Wireless. As previously mentioned you can preorder the Nexus S for AT&T today and pick it up for $99 at Best Buy on July 24. Stay tuned to TheDroidGuy for more Nexus news and updates.
