LG Offers Blackberry Styled Mid Range Android Device LG Optimus C660

Good news for our overseas readers. LG will be releasing the LG Optimus C660.

This new device from LG is a mid-range handset that sports both a full sized vertical qwerty keyboard, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The LG Optimus C660 also features a 2.8inch QVGA display, 3 megapixel rear facing camera, wi-fi and GPS. Pocket-Lint.com is also reporting that this handset will max out at 2G/Edge speeds which is still relevant in some European and Asian markets.

It’s doubtful this handset will see the UK and even more doubtful that it will reach the US however it is reportedly heading to Italy.

There has been a rash of portrait style, fixed qwerty keyboard Android devices as of late.  The Droid Pro, Droid XPRT, a rumored upcoming Motorola  portrait qwerty and the HTC Cha Cha/Status.  It seems one way to attract Blackberry fans is to offer similar style handsets.
