If you’ve been living on a far off moon in a galaxy far far away and didn’t know, the HTC Status is the first of two Facebook centric devices by HTC. The HTC Status is a candybar style phone with a full qwerty keyboard below the screen. Also on the screen is a Facebook button that deeply integrates the Facebook experience based on what you are currently doing with the phone.
More after the break
The new Facebook share button allows you to post on your wall or a friends wall, instantly upload pictures and video, or even check into a Facebook place with the touch of one button. You can also share something cool on the web via Facebook and the music you are listening to.
Under the hood the HTC Status is built on Android 2.3, Gingerbread. The screen measures in at 2.6 inches and a resolution of 480×320. There is a 5 megapixel camera on board on the back and a front facing camera for self pics and video chat.
“HTC Status brings a Facebook experience to people who want to share with their friends faster and easier than ever before,” said Jason Mackenzie, President, HTC Americas. “With a dedicated Facebook share button combined with the hallmark HTC Sense experience, HTC Status makes it easy for people to stay connected to the things that are important to them.”
The second HTC Facebook integrated phone dubbed the “Salsa” is reportedly NOT coming to AT&T. Also, with the huge reception Google+ is getting in the US and now around the world, we are wondering if HTC may ditch another go round of Facebook devices to put a Google+ button in it’s place.
You can preorder your HTC Status now or walk into an AT&T store Sunday and pick it up!
