In the evergrowing saga that is the Apple vs every Android OEM on the planet legal fiasco, Apple has now filed a complaint with the International Trade Commission claiming that HTC violates 5 of their patents. They are also seeking an injunction against HTC to stop the importing of the devices in question.
As we reported when Samsung filed a similar request against Apple, it’s not likely that anything will happen in terms of HTC shipments. These types of requests take months and months to put into place, and that’s if the ITC agrees that HTC is in fault.
More after the break
The Apple filing questions the following HTC Devices:
HTC Droid Incredible
HTC Droid Incredible 2
T-Mobile MyTouch 3G
T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide (although no Apple device has a keyboard)
HTC Evo 4G
HTC Inspire 4G
Although Pocketnow is reporting that the ITC has 30 days to decide if there will be an investigation and if there is HTC could have their devices banned, an injunction like this would not call for the “banning” of HTC devices until after the investigation is completed.
We’d love to see HTC’s CEO Peter Chou take a similar to position to that of Getjar!
