The SPH-D600 seems to be the Samsung Conquer headed to Sprint. It will be a mid-range, 4G Android device. It’s rumored to hit the street running a 1ghz processor with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It’s also rumored to have a WiMax radio in tow. The screen resolution is said to be 320×480 HVGA. It’s also believed to have a 3.1 megapixel camera on the back and a VGA camera on the front.
more after the break
The best part of the Samsung Conquer is it’s rumored to be under $100 with a new 2 year Sprint contract of course.
T-Mobile recently introduced the Samsung Exhibit 4G that has very similar specs including the 1ghz processor and 4G capability (HSPA+ for T-Mobile) and a price tag of $79 after a $50 mail in rebate and a 2 year agreement on T-Mobile.
Sprint’s Q3 roadmap recently leaked pointing to an Motorola Photon 4G, The Samsung Epic 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S II. It’s also rumored that there is another Motorola portrait qwerty on the horizon and now possibly the Samsung Conquer.
Samsung has obviously seen the value in designing 4G devices at a more modest level for those customers that don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on a superphone but still want 4G.
