HTC Evo Shift 4G Could See Gingerbread Tomorrow

Stephen over at Pocketnow is reporting by way of the Android Police that the HTC Evo Shift 4G could see Gingerbread as early as tomorrow. Citing an internal memo leaked to Android Police, Stephen reports if you check your Evo Shift 4G for an update tomorrow you should see 2.76.651.4 ready to download and install.  Then come June 20th, Sprint will go more proactive and notify you of this update.

According to the leaked internal document Evo Shift 4G users will also receive Swype and some fixes for streaming media.  HTC just updated the original Evo 4G to Gingerbread last week and made news yesterday as they flip flopped on whether the HTC Desire would see Gingerbread or not.  According to HTC’s UK Facbeook page it will.

So just to recap if you’re savvy enough go check for your update starting tomorrow or wait until they tell you it’s ready which should be Monday.
