A company out of Utah called Xi3 is set to release later this year, the first in what we’ll see as a slew of Chrome OS desktop computers. Unlike most computers that come with a tower and extra hardware this unit just comes with the “tower” or more like square in this instance.
The ChromiumPC will be powered by a dual- or single-core 64-bit, x86-based processor, housed in a chassis measuring 4.0- x 3.656- x 3.656-inches and available in multiple colors, including a chrome-plated chassis. Which makes it small however with ChromeOS theirs no need to any hard drive or other devices since everything is stored in the cloud so this makes this the perfect size.
More after the break
Xi3 while at CES in 2011, won the Innovations Award Winner in the Computer Hardware category for this hardware which currently shows on their website as having both Linux and Windows installed. However 04 July will hold a special date for them besides being America’s Independence day it’s also the date they’ll be adding Chrome OS to the list of operating systems available to ship.
Since the Xi3 Computer Architecture allows owners of the Xi3 Modular Computer to declare their independence from the built-in obsolescence of other computers, we felt that American Independence Day would be a great day to begin selling the 5 Series model of the Xi3 Modular Computer
