US Cellular Prepares To Launch The HTC Merge & LG Genesis

US Cellular, one of the nation’s larger regional carriers, is set to add more Android to their roster of phones for their customers.

Starting today US Cellular is selling the HTC Merge for just $149.99 with a $100 mail in rebate.  The HTC Merge was at one time a highly anticipated Android device. In fact back on August 5th 2010 we broke the news of the HTC Merge with photos that our friends at Androidswag had uncovered.   It took forever for the HTC Merge to come to retail and it was surpassed by a number of good HTC hardware.

More after the break

The HTC Merge is US Cellular’s first global ready smartphone. In the United States it uses the CDMA network that US Cellular operates on however, when you open up the back battery cover you will reveal a sim slot that will give you access to international GSM carriers, like Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange and Three.

The HTC Merge features a slide-out qwerty keyboard that can type in 18 languages, 5 megapixel rear facing camera, 720p video recording, Adobe Flash 10.1 and more.

The LG Genesis is exclusive to US Cellular and features a unique dual screen design.  The Genesis also has a wide slide-out keyboard under the 3.2″ screen.  It also has a 5.0 megapixel camera and reported 32gb of storage.

The HTC Merge is available now and the LG Genesis will be available June 9th for the same $149.99 after $100 mail in rebate.
