Google IO Continuous Coverage: The Meta Watch

One of the best things about Google IO 2011 was seeing all of the ways Android can be used that were outside of just phones and tablets.  Last night we brought you the story about EMILY and today we spent some time with the guys from Metawatch.

Just what is a metawatch, it’s the newest evolution of the connected data watch. In this case the watch syncs to your phone via bluetooth.  The Metawatch, by Fossil, actually uses the Texas Instruments cc2560 bluetooth platform.

The Metawatch is owned by Fossil but don’t expect to see them in stores anytime soon. With this unique watch you can screen calls, see the starts of email and text messages and of course developers with the SDK can design a myriad of apps that can be used on the metawatch.
