Disrupt NYC Coverage: Skyfer

We caught up with the creator of Skyfer on Start Up Alley at TechCrunch Disrupt NYC on Monday afternoon. Skyfer was first introduced to Android and then ported over to iPhone, so what does it do?

Well skyfer is a way to find service people like plumbers, carpenters, maintenance people, handymen, even babysitters etc.  The service provider simply signs up for a skyfer account and lists their services along with their contact information.  From there they show up on a map and you can see which service providers are in close proximity to you.

More after the break

See you need a tree trimmer. You can search for a tree trimmer and the closest ones will show up on your map. You can send them a direct message, email, text etc to get in touch with them and see which one offers you the best deal for your project.

Skyfer is a much easier way to find service people to fit your needs than perusing the service adds on craigslist.
