Verizon Not Ruling The Air Today!

We found it odd that mere hours after we did a crankin speed test of Verizon 4G vs T-Mobile 4G photo on our twitter feed we were seeing 1x in almost the exact same spot. Apparently Verizon Wireless is having a major 4G/LTE outage nationwide that is affecting all of the devices on their 4G Network including the HTC Thunderbolt.

More after the break

This couldn’t come at a more inconvenient time as the Samsung Droid Charge goes on sale tomorrow. The Droid Charge is the first scheduled 4G Android device to come out of the gate on time without issue. Both the HTC Thunderbolt and now the  Motorola Droid Bionic have been plagued with numerous issues.  Samsung and Verizon announced the then non-named phone, at CES, and backed it up with a reliable release date issued by Verizon Wireless.

In regards to the 4G/LTE problems it’s been reported that toggling 4G will not help. There is a quick tip over at droid-life here. Otherwise you can wait it out.
