LG Has Dual Android’s Coming To AT&T On Sunday

This Sunday LG and AT&T Mobility are teaming up to release two LG Android powered devices the LG Thrive and the  LG Phoenix.

The LG Thrive, not to be confused with the Thrill, is the first smartphone to appear on AT&T’s prepaid brand called “Go-Phone”. Cost conscience AT&T customers can now use new data plans on Go-Phone to purchase data plans without long term commitments.

Both phones have the following specs
Android 2.2
3G Data Speeds
600mhz application processor
3.2″ 320×480 232k color full-touch display
Wi-Fi/a GPS capable
160mb user memory and microSD storage up to 32gb
2gb microSD card installed
3.2 mega pixel auto focus camera
1500 mah battery

Although it’s not the creme of the crop as far as specs go it’s a “good” Android phone.  As we said with the new Samsung Prevail on Boost Mobile, it’s the variety of Android phones that make Android so great.  The LG Thrive comes in silver and is exclusive to AT&T’s prepaid program while the LG Phoenix is dark blue and is the same device as the LG Thrive but on AT&T’s postpaid network.

The LG Thrive will cost $179.99 (same as the Samsung Prevail on Boost) and the Phoenix will be $49.99 on a two year agreement.

The data plans on GoPhone are:

500mb $25
100mb $15
10mb $5

You can also use AT&T Wifi hotspots free with the LG Thrive.

  1. Cool to see Android slowly filter into prepaid. Maybe when my contract is up, I could check out one of the prepaid Androids.
