Apple has a strange way of working with their suppliers. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is suing Samsung over the design of both their Galaxy S line of smartphones and their 10.1″ Samsung Galaxy Tab, announced in February at Mobile World congress.
Apple says in the lawsuit “Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple’s technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products.”
In the lawsuit filed Friday in Northern California District Court, Apple specifically names the Galaxy S 4G, Nexus S and the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Apple has been buying processor parts from Samsung for many years including the A5 and A4 chips found in their iPad line of tablets. Apple contends that it is through this relationship that Samsung was able to “steal” Apple’s designs.
