Sony Ericsson has confirmed that its business will be affected by the horrific earthquake that hit Japan.
The manufacturer of handsets operates out of Tokyo, Japan. Both of there offices manged to evade the disaster from the earthquake. However, Sony Ericsson’s suppliers in North Japan were affected by the earthquake, which in turn will hurt Sony Ericsson’s production. However, they are looking for other ways to offset this problem by looking for secondary sources for their components along with reconsidering the location of some of their manufacturing.
Sony Ericsson is still expecting this issue to cause some disruption to their manufacturing of handsets. Hopefully, they will be able to overcome and the upcoming Sony Xperia Play will not be affected.
As soon as we hear more regarding Sony Ericsson we will be sure to update you.
