Thedroidguy team is starting to arrive in Orlando Florida in anticipation of the CTIA 11 Mobile Life expo.
Starting this weekend the entire wireless industry will Converge on Orlando Florida where there isn’t a cloud in the sky for what is sure to be a gamechanger of a conference.
As with the last few events we covered live; CES, MWC and SXSW the big buzz words will be cloud, converge, Android, 4G and gamechanger and we’re looking forward to all of them.
There are a lot of rumored devices reported to be coming out of CTIA this week which include:
Samsung: Samsung will hold their press only “unpacked” event and we’ll be there liveblogging at Samsunglaunch.com and we expect the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Kim Titus, Director of Public Relations told thedroidguy today “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”. We’ve also heard very loud rumblings of the Samsung Nexus S 4G coming to Sprint and finally they may shed some light on US carriers and release dates for the Samsung Galaxy S II, although we’ve already seen the AT&T version direct from Samsung twice last week at SXSW.
We could also hear more about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 that we saw in Barcelona last month and possibly get some hands on time with the already announced T-Mobile Sidekick 4G
more after the break
Sprint: The nation’s third largest carrier is expected to announce the HTC Flyer for Sprint branded as the HTC Evo View. HTC is also said to have the breakthrough follow up to the HTC Evo, The HTC Evo 3D. Sprint may also confirm the rumor that the Motorola Xoom is coming to Sprint and of course the Nexus S rumor above.
LG: We are expecting that LG will give some legitimate facetime to the LG G-Slate along with the LG Optimus 2X (which we used for a few weeks a month or so ago) with the T-Mobile G2x branding.
AT&T and Sony Ericsson are going to brief us on what they have coming down the pike. We’ve had a Sony Xperia play for the past two weeks and we are demoing games for people every chance we get.
Verizon: Verizon doesn’t have a booth presence at CTIA but they are having two events and Dan Mead is speaking at the big round tablet moderated by Jim Cramer. Verizon may give up a date for the Motorola Droid Bionic and the Samsung Stealth and perhaps shed some light on the pictures that showed up late last week.
Kyocera: Kyocera has the echo coming to Sprint, but what else? They’ve requested a briefing with TDG and other mobile tech sites so we shall see.
Dell: We don’t know what kind of formal event they have planned if any however we hear we might see or hear more on a 10.1″ Dell tablet running Android.
Cricket: Cricket wireless has some more Android love up their sleeves and we are also expecting a more detailed roll out for the music service.
Muvee: A company that is making video editing on the go a reality will be showing off their stuff
Slacker Radio: Slacker radio has some new tricks up their sleeves and they will be announcing those along with a new partnership. Keep your ears to the ground for this one.
