Well The day has finally arrived, Amazons Appstore is now live and running. At the moment only U.S residents are able to access the the appstore. I have already played around with the new Amazon Appstore and I have to say I am impressed (and yes I have already had the pleasure of playing Angry Birds Rio)!!!!
Amazon has said that they will be making available one paid app free per day to help increase the number of people using their Appstore. However, this is probably just a marketing ploy to increase business, but free is free!!! Another benefit of using the Amazon Appstore is you get the same great shopping experience that we have all came to love when shopping with Amazon. There are two ways you can access the Appstore, one is through there app for the Android Market and the second is through a web interface. The web interface includes a 30 minute test drive where you can try an app before buying. I have yet to play with this feature yet, but I do have it added to my things-to-try list.
More after the break!!!
As you may have already guessed, the first paid app to be offered for free is Angry Birds Rio. Now I truthfully, have never been a big fan of Angry Birds, but this is an awesome version of it. Plus remember free is free!!!! All you need to do is download the Amazon Appstore from the Android Market and you will be on your way to a new way to get Android apps for your device. Just remember that they offer one paid app free a day so Angry Birds Rio will not be free tomorrow it will go back to its usual price of $0.99, so take advantage of it while you can.
Let us know what you think of the Amazon Appstore in the comments below. We would love to hear you take on it compared to the Android Market.
