NEC’s Media S N-04C Android Phone Could Be The Thinnest Phone Ever

Thin phones seem to be popular this year.  LG’s new Optimus Black comes in at 9.22mm thick and the Samsung Galaxy S2 is 8.5mm thick.  The Samsung Infuse 4G seemed roughly as thin as the Samsung Galaxy S 2.

The new NEC Media S N-04C coming to Japan’s largest carrier NTT DoCoMo comes in at a whopping 7.7mm thick. In addition to it’s thinness it comes with Android 2.2 “Froyo a 4 inch WVGA display and NFC support. NEC has no plans to launch this phone outside of Japan.

NEC’s phone division is still independent however most of their other businesses have formed a partnership with Lenovo to bring out PC’s, laptops and tablets. We saw a dual screen tablet by NEC in a private briefing at CES however it too had no plans for US release, and Android 2.1 with no plans to upgrade.
