Latest Version Of Google Maps (5.1) For Android Adds Check Ins

Google has updated Google Maps for Android to version 5.1 so please go update it now…

Great now that you have the update you’ll notice that Google is getting more location savvy. We knew this was coming and it’s definitely a step in the right direction adding another feature to the awesomeness of Google Maps. Google Maps has added check ins with it’s latest Android version.¬† You can seemlessly check in and out of places automatically if you wish or manually if you want some control over your latitude life.

Combining latitude with GPS and Google Maps, users who select to activate this feature can go in somewhere and with GPS enabled it will check you into that location automatically. This is a big difference from other location based competitors like Foursquare, Gowalla and SCVNGR which ask that you sign in, and start the app before it will check you in.

Worried about your privacy? No problem the newest version of Google Maps has different options when it comes to checking in like enabling automatic check ins.
