Deal With Red Light Management Shows AT&T Is Still On A Cool Spree…

Only 8 days into the loss of iPhone exclusivity and more news is coming out of Atlanta and the AT&T wireless camp that shows they’re still cool.

AT&T is partnering with Red Light Management one of the largest artist portfolio management companies in the world to deploy 2D barcode scanning on your Android device that will allow you to scan 2D barcodes at rock stars for your favorite artists. Once the barcode is scanned the user will enjoy free apps, downloads and special offers available onsite at the venue.

So upon hearing about this really cool deal thedroidguy asked AT&T if they be able to deploy the barcodes and scanning interaction at venues marqueed by Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless pays for marquee (entire venue and naming) advertising at dozens of venues across the country, the answer to that was Yes.

Red Light Management has a roster of nearly 100 artists including; The Dave Matthews Band, Primus, Tim McGraw, Steel Train, Alicia Keys, OAR, One Republic, Faith Hill, Phish and many many more. For a complete list of Red Light Management Artists click here

It’s also been hinted that artists will be able to use the barcode technology for fans to win trips backstage and other cool prizes.
