Cellular South Airing New Commercial During Localized Big Game Telecast

Cellular South, the largest privately owned wireless provider in the United States, is releasing a new TV commercial highlighting the Samsung Galaxy S during Sundays big game telecast.

Cellular South shows it’s commitment to Android once again. The regional carrier currently has a roster of 6 Android smartphones with a seventh waiting in the wings.  The advertistement, which airs for the first time Febuary 6th, highlights the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone, the most advanced smartphone in Cellular South’s current line up.

Cellular South also carries other Android powered superphones like the HTC Desire and the Motorola Milestone.

The ad takes place in a sports bar setting with tvs lining the walls. While the men in the commercial are deeply entrenched in the game on the tvs three women are hovered around a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone watching an HD quality video.  Cellular South doesn’t say what happens next but they say it’s an interesting twist which highlights the features of the Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung’s Allshare software. Allshare allows users of Samsung Galaxy S phones to share content with other enabled devices.  We are pretty certain the HD Video on the Galaxy S’ superAMOLED screen eventually makes it’s way to distrupt the game.

Because Cellular South is a privately held company they don’t have to jump through the corporate hoops that other carriers have to in order to test out new marketing methods, strategies, even devices. This makes smaller regional carriers like Cellular South and US Cellular more innovative to a degree.

Cellular South’s regional ad buy will accompany other national commercials which may appeal to the Android enthusiast like Motorola’s commercial in the second quarter and Angry Birds in the fourth.
