MWC isn’t the only big convention going on right now. Back here in the US the New York Toy Fair is happening this week at the Javits Center in New York City and according to our good friend KT Bradford at Laptop Magazine, Angry Birds is the word even in the real world.
KT reported that there were dozens of booths at this years toy fair with merchandise licensed from Rovio Mobile and based on their beloved birds franchise. The Angry Birds phenomenon has made it to the likes of the Super Bowl and the silver screen and yesterday won the Mobile App Of The Year award at the Global Mobile Awards at MWC.

Earlier this year we reported that there was a whole line of plush toys along with a catapult toy at the London Toy Fair. The same toys were at the New York Toy Fair and more. At the New York Toy Fair toy industry giant Mattel has released a full on game called “Angry Birds Knock On Wood” which brings the birds from your mobile device to your playroom or kitchen table.
The game do out this spring will only cost around $14.99 and it’s a fairly simple concept. The game comes with 3 birds, 4 pigs, plastic wooden blocks a star, a tree and a launcher. Game play works almost like the video game. The game contains a deck of Angry Birds cards which players choose. The cards show the design of the block layout that the players need to knock down for points. The first player with 1000 points wins the game.
