XDA Working Hard On Honeycomb Already Has A Very Early Port Running

Insert Standard Honeycombness:  Android 3.0, Honeycomb, is the next generation of Android. Andy Rubin has clearly stated it’s for tablets while Eric Schmidt has said it’s for phones as well. We expect to hear exactly what the plan is Wednesday when they officially release it to the media and the world with a little show and tell breakfast in Mountain View.

So you want the honeycomb goodness for almost half the price? Then get yourself a Nook Color from Barnes and Noble and wait just a little bit. It seems from following the threads that d_blue has ported an early version of Honeyomb to his nook color. He’s reported that it’s slow and he just got the touchscreen working but as everyone on XDA said it’s a great start.

For more follow the thread here and don’t ask when it will be ready.
