Technicolor Releases Media Touch To The US At CES 2011

Technicolor has been a household name, well practically since the invention of the color television.  For the last few decades Technicolor has been working on enriching the television experience.

In late October Technicolor released their Media Touch control tablet in France. The Media Touch control surface offers multi-screen interactivity, high quality communications and home control all wrapped up into an easy to use interface powered by Android.

In addition to countless Android phones, official Android tablets and of course low level MID’s, this year at CES we are going to see a whole lot more Android integration in everything from digital home control to household appliances. We saw a sneak peak at some of that last year at CES and again at the IFA convention in Berlin Germany.

Technicolor chose Android as an operating sytem because it allows for more possibilities with device intergration.  In addition to traditional Television, DVD, Blu Ray, cable/satelite, gaming systems and other entertainment systems, it can also control whole house audio/visual solutions, and automation like door locks.

The Media Touch device was recognized at the Broadband Infovision Awards.
