Sony Xperia Arc Features Android 2.3

While Motorola stole the show as far as Android devices go, there were a lot of other companies that announced feature packed superphone type devices.  Sony is one of those.

While everyone is eagerly awaiting Zeus or the Sony Xperia Play, Sony and AT&T have ended the life of the original Sony Xperia X10 and has a new beautiful device to show in it’s place. The new device is called the Sony Xperia Arc.

The Sony Xperia Arc features Android 2.3 “Gingerbread”.  The Sony Xperia Arc features a 4.2 inch screen built on Sony’s Bravia technology and 16.7 million colors. The Sony Xperia Arc is thin, very thin and comes in at .342 inches and is certainly one of the thinnest out there.

Sony already has a leg up on last years Xperia release as the Xperia X10 came out with Android 1.6 while everything else was coming out at 2.x. This time around we didn’t see an overwhelming amount of Gingerbread devices. In fact we were a little disappointed that all the 4G Android offerings were at Android 2.2 Froyo.

No info available on pricing or availability however a Sony spokesperson has confirmed that the Xperia Arc will be priced competitively and rolled out in the first half of 2011.
