Last week it was announced that the Emperor of T-Mobile, Deutsche Telekom AG’s CEO, Rene Oberman was coming stateside to speak with T-Mobile USA’s CEO Phillip Humm and talk to investors about the T-Mobile turnaround and their plans for 2011.
Humm has been the head of T-Mobile USA for the past 6 months and they have made some significant strides. Deutsche Telekom isn’t used to coming in fourth place in other countries they are consistently one of the top carriers. Oberman confirmed that T-Mobile needs more spectrum, to get faster devices out quicker and to work to negativize churn.
One of the ways T-Mobile will do this is with their HSPA + 21 devices which are going to officially include the Samsung Vibrant 4G, The LG G-Slate and The Sidekick 4G, which will be Android based.
So the rumor mill can stop as the Emperor himself has said it, an Android 4G Sidekick is coming.
