Motorola's Sanjay Jha shows off the Webtop Accesory for the Motorola Atrix 4G photo:

We knew that Sanjay was scared. He told the Credit Suisse Technology conference that the landscape at Verizon was changing this year. Assumingly because of the iPhone.

In that same speech Jha led on to the fact that Motorola Mobility would be working closely with the other carriers, basically confirming that the best Motorola Android devices would not just come to Verizon any longer.

Today at the AT&T Developer’s Summit, Motorola Mobility CEO, Sanjay Jha, introduced the Motorola Atrix 4G which they’ve dubbed “The World’s Best Smartphone” This will oeprate on AT&T’s 4G network which they are rolling out right now.

AT&T has a two fold approach to 4G. They are using the same HSPA+ technology that T-Mobile currently offers. The HSPA+ network is almost 100% compete according to AT&T’s CEO Ralph De Lavega.  AT&T will also roll out a nationwide LTE network utilizing the same LTE technology that Verizon has been using  AT&T has stayed out of the current 4G war because they are working tirelessly on having fiber and cable back haul for the data.

As for the Atrix 4G, it features the 4G ability along with a dual core processor and some really great accesory integration.  Jha showed off the Motorola Webtop accesory which allows you to dock the Atrix in a laptop looking frame which features a larger screen and keyboard. The phone itself interacts seemlessly with the Atrix providing a netbook like feel.

This is the Motorola “Olympus” with a whole lot more.
