Google Reader Link Replaced With Picasa

In a move that is sparking some twitter rage Google has replaced the RSS reader link on the top of the Gmail screen with a link for Picasa/Photos. No worries Google Reader is still around (for now) you just have to go to the more tab to find it if you’re going through Gmail to get to your Google Reader.

We doubt this has anything to do with Larry Page taking over as CEO on April 4th it’s just some housekeeping that may indicate Google is moving away from the RSS reader concept but who actually knows.

We have Google Reader bookmarked in our bookmarks bar in Chrome so I don’t think I’ve ever personally clicked the reader link from Gmail.
