Cellular South Adds Samsung Gem To It’s Beefy Android Line Up

Cellular South, the largest independently owned regional carrier in the United States, keeps re-solidifying their commitment to Android.  They prefer to pitch Android for business as opposed to Blackberry because of the Android platforms variety and applications.

Although not formerly announced the Samsung Gem has shown up on Samsung USA’s website and some assets have shown up on Cellular South’s website without a complete page yet.

The Samsung Gem is a top of the midrange device with it’s best in class 800mhz processor and Android 2.1. It features a 3.2″ WQVGA screen. You may remember the Samsung Gem as the phone that mistakenly made it onto a Bestbuy Mobile phone guide magazine back in the fall.  It’s now sporting the identification number of SCH-I100ZKAXAR (the XAR is usually an indicator for Cellular South)

The Samsung Gem is expected to also have a sub $100 price on Cellular South and is a good value for the money.
